Shard is the result of my first all-nighter in the jewellery studio. I decided the day before it was due that it would look much better with a handmade chain rather than a commercial one, and I believe that despite a night without sleep and barely making it through the next morning's critique it was the right decision.

This necklace features four enameled copper shapes, which were sugar-fired to contrast the smoothness of the metal. They are encased in sterling silver frames, held in using rivets topped with circles. The necklace holds together with a toggle clasp.
