I made this necklace in my intermediate jewellery class, which focused mainly on casting. The two links were initially built out of copper and brass. I cast the small round ones at school and sent out the larger one to a casting company.

I had a completely different idea for this project when it was first assigned to us. My teacher was not excited by it, and pushed me to do better. I'm really happy he did, because I like how this piece turned out. I discovered with this piece that I enjoy designing alien-looking things with too many appendages and stones. This piece was included in the 2016 Canadian Jewellers Expos, which was held in Toronto and Edmonton.
