The locket portion of this ring began as two hammered sterling silver sheets, with a hydraulic press used to give it its shape and dimension. This was tricky as I kept cracking the masonite board die, but after backing it with brass it worked just fine. The ring shank includes an inner ring wrapped with wires with balled ends that frame the locket. Three sky blue topazes are set along the base of the teardrop for a hint of colour, and the entire ring was blackened to bring out the details.
